Hello All, I am trrying to build an MCV application in Java. The client brokers bank transactions. They current get flat file feeds (big old text files) and parse (comma deliminated?) then do several things like reating accounts or making deposits based what info comes out of the falt file. Im trying to come up with a Java solution to their current stack, which includes reading the data from the flat file. Obviously performance is a big part of it. I am wondering what java/java tools should be used to accomplish what they are already doing. My first guess was to implement hibernate to talk to the controller but I need to know if hibernate can do what their current setup does, grab data and parse it and pass it back to the controller. If so could you give me a high level view of how hibernate does this. Thanks!

How exactly are you trying to use the hibernate?
Do you want to save the parsed (which you got from flatfile using some other mechanism) data into DB using Hibernate?
