Hi Folks,
Am newbie to this forum. I had no better knowledge on Web Services. I had came up with a requirement of noting down the sensex points over a periodic interval of time and have those details collected either in a database or in a text file. As a friend suggested that many techies could help here to get us updated, am dropping here my requirements. To be honest, am not much aware about the webservices. But i hope doing this module could get me some depth knowledge on it. So guys/gals can you drop me an idea of how to proceed with my requirements. Also is there any free webservices offered for getting the details of the sensex points BSE/NSE

Regards,
JSurya

For this it depends on the client you are using to access webservices. If yours is a simple java client, you can user Timer and TimerTask classes, which schedule a task in periodic intervals.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
