would this book contain some pages which talks about the new security features added to Spring 3.0 , with examples?

Hello Visu,

Thank you for your excellent question. Yes, we have a [somewhat short] chapter devoted to the new features and migration concerns when moving from Spring Security 2 to Spring Security 3. Although we don't cover implementation of the individual new features in that chapter, we provide pointers to the other places in the book where these features are covered as part of the normal course of our coverage of the Spring Security 3 framework.

Packt has kindly made this chapter available on their web site here: Migration to Spring Security 3. Note that the content was reformatted for the web site, so it's not as nicely laid out as the book, nor does it have the chapter references I mention, but it should give you the idea

Hope that answers your question!

Best,
Peter

Just to clarify my response, the reason why the chapter is short is that there (1) aren't that many significant new features in Spring Sec 3, and (2) most of the "how do I use feature XXX" are covered in other chapters. One of the other nice things that we provide with the downloads for the book is a spreadsheet listing the changes in packages and class names for every single class in the framework.

Best,
Peter
