Hi all,

I completed my assignment and now preparing for essay. In the beginning, I learned about the testing procedure in one of the test centers and they told me that I can use the dictionary for essay passing. I am not a native english speaker and very bad writing in english. Once I learned that I can use the dictionary then I'm not worried about the essay. Yesterday I called the test center to register for the exam, and also I ask about dictionary. They said that I can not use a dictionary. Now I am very worried. Does anyone know, can I still use a dictionary?

Where I can see testing rules?

Good day.

You are not allowed to bring any refference material in the exam room, so you can not bring any papers or books with you to the exam room.
I also do not speak English as a home language but I wrote my exams already.
I explained my self using simple english. There is no need to complicate things.
The questions are also very simple and ask something that is straight to the point. The enlish used on the question is simple.

Go through the FAQ page to find out about the rules.

There is nothing that you need other than your hands and memory for the exam.

It's very easy: nothing is allowed when you take your essay exam (you'll get some paper and something to write at the test center itself), maybe a bottle or glass of water or something else to drink. But certainly nothing else. You could put all kinds of notes into your "dictionary" made by someone else (because he developed the assignment for you) and pass the exam.

But no need to worry: it's not an english written exam you are not supposed to write full correct English sentences. Just use the "bullet notation" to answer your questions. For example:

I chose this approach because:
  • it was the best
  • other alternatives were to complex

  • This is a lot easier than using full sentences. I used this approach too (I'm also not a native English speaker)

    Hi Roel,

Now I am more confident. I hope that everything will be fine.
