I tried to use somehow this tool to create few mockups for enterprise program and this tool has rich set of components to use and well designed usability. But the main problem which block a bit me to use it further was performance. I was spend about 5-10 sec to copy some form which contains about 20-30 elements and also it sluggish when to drag this form to other place, also it slow during scrolling and scaling. So my question to Peldi Guilizzoni is if it possible to improve performance? Or you don't see lacks in your program and it is just lack of Adobe Air?

I am using Ubuntu 9.10 on Core 2 Duo T6570 2.1Ghz and 3 Gb RAM

Hello Alexey, sorry you've had performance problems. We constantly work to improve performance, and we just made some big improvements in scrolling in 1.8.7. Assuming you're using the latest version, I fear that what you're seeing is close to what Adobe Air for linux lets us do.

A few tips:
- switch to Use System Fonts
- don't use vertical labels

I hope these help!

Thank you Peldi for your answer and tips.
I am using this version

Version: 1.8.7 - 06/29/2010 16:41 11:28 (Air)
Adobe AIR Player Version: LNX 10,1,53,64

and I am not using vertical labels, I have tried switch to system fonts but it seems not so significant for performance (at least I don't see so much defference).

So seems for now it is not so convenient for me to use this program actively because this tool should save time for mocking. It should have rich set of components, good usability, allow reuse mocks and FAST. But now for me the last point is not true.

Will track your change log and changes in Adobe AIR for Linux...

Adobe Air is a huge memory suck. Regardless of what the good engineers do at Balsamiq, Peldi is right, it really comes down to Air.
