Hi everyone. I've noticed that only three in my log files have actually data inside. the others seem to refer to a real session but they're empty. it's that a bug? an error I made while installing tomcat ?

My Tomcat version is 6.0.29.

I'm trying to learn how to read log files in order to discover why this happened (and for general debug of course).

Loggers may open (create) files before they actually have something to write to them - assuming they every do write to them. Some loggers only write data in exceptions circumstances, and the emptier the are, the better.

Also, some OS's have different ways of committing and displaying data to logs, so in some cases, data was written, but simply hasn't become visible yet.

The secret of how to be miserable is to constantly expect things are going to happen the way that they are "supposed" to happen.

You can have faith, which carries the understanding that you may be disappointed. Then there's being a willfully-blind idiot, which virtually guarantees it.
