Hi Friends,

I completed my scjp two years back and have to work on diff technology in the work place, right now I am planning to work on java again and want to do scjd, I request some one to give information on it, as how long it takes if I spend 3 hours a day and also the best book to go a head.

Thanks,
lavanya.

Hi Lavanya,

Welcome to the JavaRanch!

Maybe you could have a look at ScjdFaq, it contains a lot of valuable information for a SCJD starter. You could also have a look at the ScjdWallOfFame and have a look at the stories of people passing (to know what they did, which recources they used, how much time it took,...)

The question how long it takes is just hard to answer: it depends on your knowledge of the different technologies you have to use: RMI/Sockets, Swing, threading,... But I would guess something between 1 and 3 months should do the job.

Kind regards,
Roel

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
