jQuery in Action: learning enough CSS+DOM?

Is there a better way to learn enough CSS to make a lot of the jQuery stuff more relevant? It seems like on a lot of pages the two have to go hand in hand in order to achieve desired results.

Hey kirk, I'm not sure exactly what you are asking.

But -- whether you are using jQuery or not, CSS is an important part of the client-side equation and a skill that you must learn to work on the client side of the HTTP divide.

Probably too general a question for here, just looking for online resources, or particularly good books, for CSS more geared for engineers than designers...

The CSS Specification might be just what you are looking for!

The most important part of CSS to learn for jQuery usage, in my opinion, is the concept of selectors, and how to use them effectively.

(I'm not even sure that much else is particularly jQuery-relevant, really, save a few minor things.)
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
