how to remove the port number from url

Hi all,
I am using Tomcat 5.5 server to run my JSP application.When i tried to run the application,i have to give the URL like this
http://58.68.55.221:8082/NovireApplication/
but actually i want the URL to be given like this
http://NovireApplication.com/

Any solution for the above???

Modify tomcat configuration by setting port number to 8000.

Hey, Welcome to JavaRanch!

You need to update your server.xml file which is in "../tomcat/conf/server.xml" and replace the connection port value to "80" instead of "8080".

What is needed is to buy a domain, define a new Host in server.xml with the domain name, and change default http port to 80
