Dear All,

We are using an backend routine to process huge number of files.
This routine was running successfully till date, but sometimes this process stops abruptly.

Code used:

My doubt is, whether any other system process will forcefully use the port 5000 and hence my process is killed?
If that's the case, Which are the safest ports to use?

Thanks in advance.

I see that you are doing a System.exit() on any exception that occurs. Any specific reason for doing that?
What happens if your client closes the connection and thus the output stream becomes invalid?
