That's dishearting, but dont lose heart, I will suggest, see where you lost points and work in those areas and re submit the assignment.

I don't think you need to appear for part 3 again.

All the Best

Thanks,

Hello.
Since you mentioned failing can you tell us where you lost points and why ?
I already sent my assignment for grading (I am waiting for the results) but I would like to know how you did and maybe learn from your mistakes
Regarding the failure I think if I were in your shoes(and I am almost) I would take a break for a while and not resubmit it for another 2 weeks .. but that's just me.
Thank you and good luck with your re-submission.
Mihai Lihatchi
PS : When (and if) I fail I will let you guys know .

Hi Lihatchi ,
Sun told me that I lost points in class, deployment and component diagrams. I'm still in the process of figuring out why I lost points there. Since I got full marks in sequence diagram I believe there is no problem in my architecture and solution, so I won't be changing the solution I provided.
I am surprised that I lost 50% marks in deployment diagram, which I thought was the easiest one to make.

Since I cannot show my diagrams to anyone I find it difficult to get other person's feedback on what is wrong with my diagram and sun won't provide me that detail. All they will say is incomplete/incorrect representation.

Thanks for your wishes.

Thanks,
Anurag

Hi Anurag,

Did you take a look at Chapter 9 of Humprey Sheil book? I used it is as the baseline for all diagrams. Take a diagram and tweak it a bit by adding few more relevant information. I read somewhere in this forum that someone has passed the exam by representing Chapter 9 deployment diagram exactly. The powerpoint presentation by Humprey Sheil will also be useful. The download information of these files can be found by searching this forum.

All the best!!!

Cheers,

I could tell you a lot of things...but let me say this: try using the evaluator's remarks to prepare your next submission.

Thanks Kuppusamy. I think your advise of following diagrams in Humphry Sheil's book is good start

Hi P Das,
Following are the comments and I don't read much into it.

"Marks lost in the class diagram due to incomplete and / or incorrect representation of the solution being put forward. Marks also lost in the component and deployment diagram for the same reason. "

I can see that with the marks I've got.Had they been more descriptive it would have helped.
Thanks,
Anurag

That advice of following Humphrey Sheil's book might work; since if i am not mistaken, I saw mention of the author's slides somewhere in architecture related sites of Sun (Education?).

I, personally, do not think his advice against fragmenting class diagram is valid though.

Since you know how many more marks you need, probably you can plan in that line.
