Scriptlets -> Time and Space Complexity

is scriptlet in JSP related to Space or Time complexity? or is there some other reason due to which these are not prefered?

Spacetime, and the related fields of gravity and relativity, have almost nothing to do with JSPs and scriptlets.

It's a maintainability and separation of concerns issue. Presentation versus logic. Java versus markup.

so you mean a work which a servlet can do in a one time period same can JSP do in same time period? if presentationm layer is exchanged?

i feel there is moore time to execute JSP then servlet(This is just my feeling, i have even read it somewhere )

A JSP *is* a servlet.

That's true, people are perfectly willing to make up statements about performance and post them on the web as if they were facts.

Without Scriptlets jsp is :
easy to maintain.
it is doing the presentation task only.
you can take the example of legacy applications of any company where whole application is made in jsp only
if it require any minor change also, then it needs great efforts

there is no time issue except if you have not precompiled your jsp even this will give one time pain to application.
