I downloaded the JAVA API to my desktop just a few weeks ago without a problem but my Windows cleanup util accidentally deleted it.
Now Sun/Oracle is issuing a "BAD TRANSACTION" message when I attempt to download the API.
I received this error message on 2 different PCs so now I wonder if this is their new policy?

Has anyone successfully downloaded the JAVA 6 SE API recently?

No, Oracle does not suddenly have a new policy of presenting people with a "BAD TRANSACTION" error message whenever you try to download the documentation.

I just tried it and also got an error message. It's probably a temporary error on Oracle's servers, somebody at Oracle probably needs to fix the problem. Maybe it will take a day or to before they discover and fix the problem.

Thanks, Jesper --- I assumed it may be a temp Sun/Oracle screwup.

(I get an error message saying "Your download transaction cannot be approved. Contact Customer Service.")

As if there wasn't enough FUD springing up because of the Google thing :(

Yep! That's the message I got but like Jesper (see above) commented, maybe this is just a temporary weekend glitch.

FYI, I found this website "http://www.allimant.org/javadoc/index.php" which has some nice API & other doc in a neatly packaged chm file,
so no longer need to wait for Sun/Oracle to correct their faulty server.

Thanks, my fellow ranchers!

You can download a 'chm-reader' at http://www.extrachm.com

It's a glorified program loader with a pretty blue background when it shows stack traces. Which seems to be its main purpose. Showing stacktraces.
