How to post questions in hot folder in coderanch can any one tell me....

When you start a thread and when the no. of replies reach some number(i think 18, not sure though), your thread automatically becomes a 'hot-topic'. A thread becomes a hot-topic when it attracts the interest of many people & the discussion gets hotter(as its name suggests). Other-wise for the folder icon change there is not much a difference between an ordinary thread & a hot topic thread.
There is no restriction for you to post into such hot-topic threads.
You cannot create a thread directly with the hot-topic icon, if thats what you want to do.

There is no 'hot folder', we have 'hot topics' that are marked as hot once they reach a certain number of posts.
Hot topics are exactly the same as regular topics except that they have a different icon which ironically is a folder...
