I'm gonna watch all six in one day around the middle of october.

So I figure I'll pop onto ebay and buy all six for something like $20. Surely somebody owns all six and is willing.

Nope.

Not only that, but it seems there is no package of all six. There is "The full trilogy" and "the prequel trilogy".

The cheapest I see is sixty bucks. Well, it just isn't worth sixty bucks.

Aren't they gonna come out with some sort of uber remaster bluray "now with 80 seconds of additional footage" version that all of the collectors will grab so they can flush the old stuff for twenty bucks?

They are coming out with the Blu-Ray versions soon, so you might get lucky about the time those are released.

You can get them "used" a la carte on amazon for like 2 bucks each.

If you get them all from the same vendor they can combine shipping usually.

Really? I always get billed the same as if they were separate purchases. And Amazon's Marketplace Shipping Rates page seems to confirm this:

Rates are based on shipping a single item. Purchasing multiple items results in multiple shipping charges--there are no "per shipment" and "per item" charges, as there are when you buy directly from Amazon.com.

Is there a trick to circumvent this and get combined shipping? Or is it possible you're remembering your experience purchasing from another site, such as eBay?

I seem to remember emailing a vendor and saying, "look, I found all the items I needed... you carry them. Your shipping is pretty expensive if we add it up. Can you give me a deal so I can shop with you instead of 5 other people?" The person was pretty helpful. Of course, I was buying textbooks, not $2 dvds, so I imagine there's more of a markup there.

Sometimes, they will honor human decency. Sometimes, the only buck they make is on the shipping and they say no. Some folks have other websites and say "well put your order in on my site and it will get charged x." This is what happened with my textbook guy. I didn't make the purchase through amazon, I technically made it through the person's website.

I think that the whole backstory to Boba Fett cleared up some things for me.... I had never really "put it all together."

There are two trains of thought for "the correct order" and I am on the track of watching them in the order of the story. I can only hope that one day they change their minds and make the last 3.

For example, Obi Wan is talking about the clone wars in 4, when he's talking to Luke at Luke's "uncle" place. I didn't notice that before.

Ah.

So I guess you weren't waiting since 1977 to learn more about the Clone Wars?
