Finally passed SCJD

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi everybody!

Finally, after about 4 months, more than a dozen of e-mails sent to all known addresses I received the results and I passed.

I would like to thank to all the JavaRanch community, especially to Roel De Nijs, Roberto Perillo and countless members that were actively involved in all these interesting debates found on this forum. I must admit that the all the great knowledge gathered here (provided in a very professional manner) guided me into making balanced choices, focusing on the essential issues and not getting carried over towards greater complexity (and higher chance of mistakes).
I must admit I'd have liked to be more actively involved into the discussions. Unfortunately I have had quite a difficult period of time at work - a new project, a very crowded time-table. Hope I can fix this in the future and contribute more to this community. So, if any questions don't hesitate asking.

Lucian

Howdy, Lucian!

Congrats for the achievement! We are always glad to help!

Unfortunately I have had quite a difficult period of time at work - a new project, a very crowded time-table.

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. I'm facing such period right now... a lot of things going on here at work plus the things of my master program and the articles of the magazine. But I always try to be here as much as I can!

Thank you all for sharing this with me!

If someone in Romania(Bucharest) I'd invite him for a drink to celebrate

By getting more involved I hope I can give something back to this community who was of great help for me.

@Roberto Perillo - congratulations for succeeding on managing all this. I takes lots of will and discipline to accomplish this. Regarding the busy period at work, after rain comes sunshine. I always tell this to myself when facing difficult periods.

I wish to all of you that haven't already received the results to get them in a more prompt manner than I did.

PS: would it be possible to get a score by asking for it? I ask as I remember reading around here that some people asked for the score. Were they successful?

You could try to ask, but they will give you a standard reply: no scores are given anymore (only when you fail). Anyway, if you try it and get a response, don't hesitate to share it

I finally received an e-mail confirming that I passed the SCJD!! (or whatever they call it )

Although I haven't posted many messages here I've got to say that the forums, postings and the resources made available at JavaRanch were super helpful during my "journey" (a challenging but fun and rewarding journey).

Thank you all (especially Roel and Roberto).

Adriano.

(I've got to say: unfortunately the signs shown so far by Oracle on how they're going to handle Java haven't been exactly heartening or encouraging. I've seen and been involved in some pretty big mergers in my life and I hope this one goes well and doesn't cause too much harm to the Java world... I hope that what we've seen so far is just "normal bumps" that you find in any acquisition process...).

Howdy, Adriano!

Many congrats for the achievement, champ! I'm glad I was able to help in your journey!

In order to keep the threads with high cohesion and low coupling, how about starting a brand new thread in this forum with this great news? I'll then delete these entries from this thread.

Thanks to all!

@Adriano, congratulations for this achievement!
Regarding the Oracle interaction experience, it could have been much better. Left me with a bitter taste, the positive thing is that it had the expected outcome. Hope
things settle down and in the future will work smoother.
