I'm trying to print from a web servlet running on a server to a network printer. I created a stand-alone app and can create an print just fine. When I try to do it without the dialog popup, nothing happens. I'm guessing that the dialog popup sets some information that the printerJob.print() uses to print the file. My document is a simple label that's constucted in a printable object. If someone has a short concise example of printing a printable object on the server, I would be most appreciative. I should say that I've done the searching of the various news groups and haven't gotten much help other than a lot of people don't understand why you would want to print from a server.
Thanks

Try using PrintService and PrintServiceLookup instead of PrinterJob.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
