Currently, I'm a huge jQuery fan and I've been using jQueryUI pretty heavily over the last 4 months or so on a particular project. The more I use jQueryUI the more I hate it. I still love jQuery but jQueryUI is clearly an afterthought, in my opinion.
I've been casually looking for something better and I've been running through the Dojo Dijit docs and examples a bit today. I'm curious what others currently think about Dojo and the Dijit libraries. I've heard that older versions of Dojo were horrible but their newer version is quite a bit better.
BTW, please don't recommend other toolkits / libraries. I want to keep this discussion really focused.
jQuery UI is not under the control of John Resig, and it shows. As it stands, Part II of jQuery in Action (2nd edition) is the only complete and accurate documentation for jQuery UI.
If it may be helpful for you, here is my experience.
Several times on different OS during the last year I tried to run the dijit samples with no luck. The best result was - it simply didn't work. In the worst case my IE failed and I had to reload the desktop. Think, I could find the reason and to run it finally. But for what ? If the site that is aimed to demostrate the abilities of the library (including browser independency by the way) fails from the very beginning, what the hell else I need ?

Gennady
