I'm a newbie in Java. And want to take up SCJP and SCWCD. Since I'm interested in exploring the JSP & Servlets part. I contacted NIIT for undergoing those courses. They told me that Sun Certified Java Application Developer (SCJAD) is a combined course consisting of both SCJP & SCWCD. I never heard of anything like "SCJAD" before!! So I remained silent. Now I'm doing a lot of google search.. but found nothing like "SCJAD".. I thought it might be possible that she mistakenly told me "SCJAD" instead of "SCJD"!! Does SCJD cover combined syllabus of both SCJP and SCWCD??? Please advise.

Thanks & Regards

I've also never heard of SCJAD?? There's a SCJD which is a desktop application development certification. To give SCJD or SCWCD, you need to be SCJP first...

NIIT might themselves be running some course in which they teach SCJP and SCWCD.

And no SCJD does not cover both courses.

go for this course if know nothing about java
because in this course you will get some idea about java this course is not going too helpful in certification
i this self-study is best for certification
and of course k&C book rocks for scjp

There is SCJA or SCJD.

To get the SCJD you will need SCJP first.

If you can do this course in NIIT go for it!

@Above all

Thanks for all your kind response .. Right now, I've just enrolled for SCJP.. after clearing that I'd go for SCWCD..
I'm not in a hurry.. I want to learn every details thoroughly with hands-on experience.. so going step-by-step will be better..
