Bill,

First, let me apologize for starting this promotion a little late. I have no explanation...

Regardless, Welcome to the JavaRanch... hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome Bill!

Your book seems great for guys like me which need to use SQL with good practices and to keep the quality of my SQL scripts. Thanks .

Thanks Henry,

No worries, I was told the promotion starts Tuesday and it's still definitely Tuesday (at least in my time zone).

And thanks for inviting me. I like to help people with questions. I'll try to comment on as many JDBC topics this week as I can, even if they're not directly about my book. :-)

Regards,
Bill Karwin

Welcome Bill!

It's still Tuesday where the server is too. The intent is to start it Tuesday morning, but you are correct it is still Tuesday.

JavaRanch members: we will be drawing winners from posts starting Tuesday at midnight server time even though the server started late.

Just took a peek at the source code.... interesting. By default, the system picks winners from the previous Tuesday til its matching Friday. All this time, I thought the bounds were from the welcome topic to the promotion closing time.

Your book sounds very interesting, I loved the Head First design patterns book, and have started to learn SQL with Java, I might have to pick up a copy soon

This particular book is going to be somewhat like many in my team (well, and I myself ) are need in - as database is a heart of enterprise system, some small issues in UI can usually be overcomed or fixed easily, and database related problems are harder to fix and often can cause performance, scalability, and pretty much convenience of the data operational API to be really bad.

Waiting to read out your book and compare that with what i have in my mind now, and also share that with some guys in the team I'm working in.

Welcome to JavaRanch!

You have made us curious. Can you share what you have in mind with the Ranchers?
