When your kids are ten, you look at some awful teenagers and say "I shore am glad that my kids will never be like that" - and that might be the phrase that alerts Murphy (of Murphy's law) to hang out with your kid for the next ten years.

I've been hearing a lot recently about teeny boppers from their parents. All I can say is that I have no advice to give - better to ask somebody who had great luck.

In hindsight, I kinda think that the best place to raise a teenager is in a hellhole with crazy angry parents. This makes the teen crave decency. If you raise a teen in decency, the kid craves adventure and "cool". But to anybody that has not raised a teen, this sounds preposterous.

I was fortunate in that my teens never did drugs (that I'm aware of). I now hear tales where the teen tells the parent "I'll do drugs whenever I want and there is nothing you can do about it." The need to be a good parent is overwhelming. And yet, it turns out that there is very little that can be done. Military school?

Anybody else travelled this path?
