Hi,
I am using JDK6_21 on Windows 7. Yesterday, I have decided to compile and run my program through command prompt. But, after saving my file, I have typed....

an error message comes ---> File not found:file.java
does JDK6_21 prevent to save any source file in bin directory?
I have tried many times but its result was same, why?

Why do you have your file in the bin directory? you should have your source files in a different location, possibly "C:\Programming\source\project_name". Then from there.

Or just add the java\bin path (for instance C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\bin) to your PATH environment variable. Then you can type javac File.java in any directory.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
