I was trying to prepare a comparision sheet covering available Reporting toos available in Java and their pros and cons.

There are lot of Open Source tools available:

JCCKit, JasperReports, BIRT, jCharts, DataVision, OpenReports etc.. though I could not find comparative study for these tools.

Would like to know, if you could throw some light on these?

Well, that's what you're supposed to do, isn't it :-) What information are you looking for that isn't covered in the packages' documentation?

That's right, but If there is any comparision sheet already available, would be of help. Let me elaborate more on what i'm looking for. I just wanted to prepare a guideline for people , who are interested in using Java based Open source report solution. My plan is to compare various available Report toold based on several criteria, some of them will be: 1. Open/Closed Source 2. Data source supported? 3. Report format that can be generated? 4. Chart support - Kind of chart generated by this tool 5. Support Scheduled reports? 6. Suitable for huge reports (spanning 500 or more pages) 7. Learning curve? 8. Level of support? 9. Documents availability? etc

I do know these things about some of the Open solution like Jasper, BIRT.. and looking for similar information on other tools available.

You showed up just in time for the waffles! And this tiny ad:
