Hello everyone!

I am just about finished going through my first Java book, I started with Head First Java after hearing so many good reviews. I am trying to figure out what would be the best book to use as my second book. I have heard good things about Head First Design Patterns but am unsure if this is the right fit for where I am at in my Java life. When in my Java learning should I begin to look at specific frameworks etc like say books dedicated to Apache Tomcat etc. I am eager to hear what you all think!

Finally. since I am planning on getting my SCJP when should I start focusing on that specifically? Is completing Head First Java enough background to begin studying for SCJP with a book like the Sierra/Bates 1.6 SCJP book?

Thanks!

It's never a bad idea to learn abut patterns, but reading a book on Tomcat before you have Servlets and JSP under your belt would be pointless.

Where do your interests lie?

Well, a nice idea...As I know patterns are not easy to learn, so be careful when you wok.
Anyway, good luck to you and uour new book
