Hai all,
i needed some advice on web services. i am building a website and wanted to know that how to use web services to send mail to a client as well as the admin email id's as soon as the client fills up the contact us form.(I wanted to know how to send a return mail to the client with a specific mail id (as soon as he enters the details and click the submit button)) at present i am developing this website in html and database i have used mysql and java for connectivity.

I also work on asp.net.
( i am developing a site in that also would like to know that web services work in the same way for all databases)

It would be very kind of you to throw some light on the matter.

It doesn't sound as if web services would be an appropriate technology for this problem. Where do you think it would fit in?

Lester is right. WebService may not be the appropriate solution to this. You can use JavaMail instead and code accordingly.

You may want to look into servlets/JSP/javamail
technology. Like others mentioned, webservices is probably what you need gor this functionality.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
