I am using the Apress.com book : SCJD - by Monkhouse, Camerlengo.

http://www.apress.com/book/view/1590595165

I have compiled their sample project using the command line and everything works fine. Just cannot get it going with Netbeans? Anybody did this with Netbeans yet?

Welcome to JavaRanch!

Please TellTheDetails -- we don't yet know what kind(s) of problem(s) you're having, so it's impossible to help. Any Java application can be developed in NetBeans.

Hi,

I downloaded the source code of the book here. It is a DVD database and GUI exmple

http://www.apress.com/book/downloadfile/2563

When you unzip it, it creates the directory tree structure with the source code in them

src
src - examples
test

and a database file called dvd_db.dvd

I created a new project in Netbeans without a generated main program and copied the downloaded src folder over the Netbeans created src folder and the rest of the structure as downloaded.

I run a build on the main application folder and it builds fine.

In the test folder is a test source called DBTestRunner that needs to be executed to test the application.

It builds, starts and runs OK, it the window pops up to ask for the database location and I type in the address of the database location. (This works when I compiled the whole application manually), but in Netbeans it says "cannot find the database".

I will appreciate any help! Thanks! )(I am using Netbeans 6.9)
