i am 2010 B.E(I.T) passout . in Augest i got chance to work as project trainee for 3 months in a company. but the problem that i have is a dnt have proj to work on and i am not getting any experience on project activities. so i am lot fustrated wheather to quit this 3 months training and do SCJP and search job.. or continue 3 months here. and get the certificate. please guide me ..... i have one more question to ask wheather this 3 months traning certificate will help me to get a job
In my opinion hands-on experience is more valuable. It can be achieved through paid work, volunterr work, self-taught projects, open-source contribution, etc.
Can you come up with a sample project to work on in your training. Talk to your leader. At least try to work on a proof of concept for the organization. You could study part-time for SCJP while continuing your training.
hii thank you very much sir.. i am preparing part time to my scjp... i am reallly intersted in development activitiesd...and will try to come up with some project ... i want to ask you that will the 3 months project trainee work will be creditable for interview.. i asked the leader about some work he replied that there is no project to work..( and the info is this comp has no java proj its just enhancement of already projects ) i am really getting very confused about wat to do
please tell me.
You must have done academic project in your final year B.E. right? Same way do some project at your company if you do not have work and in parallel do SCJP or search another job.

It does not matter if next company will give a value to it. But it will give you confidence.

Are you looking into the existing project(s) & their technologies themselves ?
You mentioned a BE degree, then you can study SCJP course on your own alongwith the job. Also, I think a personal project would not be given letter of recommendation easily, better ask with your senior.
