The In Action series has a knack of going beyond the standard book about how to create the basic UI widgets etc, but doesn't go deep enough to explain using a TabBar in which there are NavControllers/TableView on some of the tabs and not on others. Or for example, on iPad, how to create a UISplitViewController via code rather than starting the app from the template and IB. Or how to have a UITableView not take the entire view, but just be one UIView subview on your UIView, connect it to a UIViewController instead of a UITableViewController.

Any stuff on how to code your UIs without using IB?
How about references/variable that you need more globally than in a single UIViewController? Or if the variable is in your AppDelegate how to cleaner get its value rather than having

MyAppDelegate *appDelegate = [[UIApplication bundle] delegate];
MyObject *obj = [appDelegate obj];

type code.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
