Everyone who visits the Ranch, staff included, is a volunteer. Questions get answered if, and only if, one of these volunteers wants to answer it.

You can help yourself get questions answered by follow the guidelines for asking good questions. See the link in my signature.

No, I said that you can make it more likely to get answers to your questions by taking the time to frame your questions well.

Patience. Patience. Your question was posted less than 24 hours ago. Due to time zones around the world, many people haven't even seen it yet. Plus some people only see questions during the week. The fact that you didn't get an answer immediately doesn't mean that nobody knows. What's this about checking everyday? Your post was today. You make it sound like you posted a week ago. In any case, you can "watch" a thread to see when it gets an answer. Then you don't have to keep checking.

I provided a link to a Googled answer. Now it's not orphaned. Google isn't better or worse than JavaRanch. It is different. Google is good for looking up things like error messages or problems others have had with good keywords. JavaRanch is good for things that require human though and learning. We absolutely recommend you google questions before posting them. Sometimes Google even gives you a link to the answer as posted on JavaRanch!

Yes. And families give advice in a well meaning way. Bear is trying to tell you how to expedite getting answers to your questions. He is going so in a nice/caring way. That's what family does.

You should do that first no matter what--if you find the answer by searching it will *always* be faster than waiting for someone else to answer it for you.

My site. My forum. I am concerned.

It seems you accidentally wandered back to my awful site. To help you find your way back to google and to not be bothered by JavaRanch, I locked your account.

Please, enjoy that superior site called google.
