Hi,

I'm new to java and Android development too. I installed the eclipse hellios latest version. After that i followed the developers.android.com instruction to setup the android development environment. I successfully finished upto installing the ADT plugin. After that i opened the eclipse , i navigated to the window-> Preferences-> in the left panel i choosed Android in that right column i selected that android sdk package, after i located the file, i hit the apply button . But nothing is loaded in the target file . What's the problem here?? What i want to do, to rectify this issue?? Can any one help me on this??

Advance Thanks...

You would have only downloaded the Sdk i guess,You need to get the platforms as well.It can be done by this
In Eclipse
Go to windows--->Android SDk and AVd manager-->Click Available Packages and check box and refresh select the platform you wish to work on 1.5,1.6 e.t.c and you will be done

Hope this works

Your best bet is to start off with the official docs : http://developer.android.com/guide/index.html
