How to burn concepts in?

Hi, I would like to know if anyone can share with me how you burn certain concepts in your mind, what I personally do is repeat the same code from an example over and over until I memorize it (like 10 times), another thing I do is to write "what if" code to answer questions about how a certain compilation would go but sometimes even this doesn't burn the concept in my mind so I would like to know how you can achieve this.

Thank you.

I wouldn't repeat the same code but try to apply the concept to different classes/projects. Then you'll get familiar with what the concept is and does, instead of what that one peace of code does.

Thanks for your replies, Seetharaman your comment almost seems ironic but it makes me realize repetition by itself is not the key. Wouter I'll try to do that instead of just repeating try to come up with examples of my own, slightly modified versions of the code.
