DatasourceRealm just ain't working

I'm trying to properly set up a Datasourcerealm and I've look through many, many, many examples, forum posts, etc and I've had ZERO luck of getting
the datasourcerealm to actually work. If I use Userdatabaserealm, my site authenticates just fine. However, I can't user tomcat-users.xml when app is
ready to go to prod....I have created both users and user_roles tables with the proper columns, etc. I don't get errors, but I just get back an invalid user/pass
from the openi application. If I put the tomcat-users.xml userdatabaserealm in place, I can log in just fine.

Desperately Seeking Help!!!

Normally, if there's a major problem with a Realm, an error will show in the Tomcat catalina.out log.

One thing that it probably won't show, however, is the case where the database user doesn't have authority to read one or both of the Realm tables, since the behavior of most database servers is to pretend that data that a person's not allowed to see doesn't exist.
