Why java needs two exception types i.e. checked and unchecked. Why only checked/unchecked exception is not sufficient.

One of the Java tutorials over at Oracle deals with Exceptions.
It provides some information about the different types, which might help you. Also, you might find the"Unchecked Exceptions — The Controversy" section informative.
