Hi there,
I have been reading posts in this forum for quite a while and I'm just impressed how friendly and competent everyone is

I'm going to take my first (and hopefully the only one) try with the SCJP6 exam tomorrow at 13:30. I'm attending a software engineering lecture upfront, but I doubt I won't take along much of that stuff

Of course I read the Study Guide (great book, Kathy and Bert could also write novels...) and scored about 75% with questions. Did the three Master Exams with an average of about 55%, but it was just after working through the book for the first time. I also did all Exam Lab test with an average of 67% and lucky final one of 73%. Now I'm working through the Two Minute Drills, APIs and Exam Watches in the Study Guide for the second time.

Any last minute recommendations? And some encouragement is also very welcome

Greetings from Germany,
Jeff

Hi Jeffrey and welcome to the JavaRanch.

Thank you for the compliment, not only from me but from everybody. Sounds like you're well prepared. Although I have not done the exam yet, so I can't give you advise out of experience, I would recommend you to go to bed early. If you're fresh and well awake then you can concentrate much better.

Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it went.

Gutten morgen Jeffrey ;)

Tell me please, did You study the serialization or You just hope that there won't be any of it as it suppose to be?
I have mine SCJP exam for two days and just wondering if I should focus more on serialization.. since I skipped that topic.

Thanks,
Tomek

Hello,
thank you for your friendly welcome, and Komal and Tomek, of course I will keep my fingers crossed for you too

As for serialization:
I studied it as wide as it is covered in the study guide... Didn't seem to be the hardest kind of question to me as well. I will keep my eyes open for it tommorow and tell you if there were any questions about it

Ok, just did scjptest.com... 93% witch just clicking through it. Seems not to reflect the level of the exam too well.

Now I'm going to follow the advice of Paul and try to chill

By the time you will read this, most probably you would have given your exam, still

Welcome to JavaRanch
Your score is pretty good with the ExamLab, and I think you will do good at the exam.
All the best

Morning,
nope, just got out of my bed after a horrible night and took my breakfast I seriously hope this is the case only with the first exam like this, or I will overthink taking another one

I've called the testing center for some infos, and at least the pepole there seem to be really nice too. My ID-card is a little bit, well, outdatet, but doesn't seem to be a problem.

I will report in some hours
