Glasswort? Never heard of it. In our wikipedia i found that it's popular in The Netherlands. Then i searched images for zeekraal and it looks good on the plate. I'd really like to try it.

I had rigatoni with savoy cabbage, chicken, white wine and cream. My own creation, that i discovered by coincidence when i had nothing else in fridge. Tastes great!

We're in a frenzy trying to get ready for our first houseguest in years. So while I usually do home-cooking, tonight it's delivery pizza!

Well so far today; I've had a bacon sandwich for breakfast and then two sauage rolls and a chicken pasty.
Tonight I'll be having a beef dinner (beef with potatos, and veg). Not the most healthy food today!

An organic shop has opened recently around the corner and every time i go there i try something new.
Today it's walnut bread, frikadellen and a grill sauce with green pepper.

Does anyone know a good recipe for Quiona by the way? I bought two packs there because it was discounted
All my ideas end up in something like a paella and i'm tired of it.

@Chris Baron
I'm not familiar with frikadellen but I'm really familiar with frikandellen .

@Wouter:
Which is sort of ironic, because I was taught the correct spelling was frikadel, and then they up and chaged it (officially) to frikandel a few years ago. To make a bad thing worse, or maybe a confusing thing more confusing, frikadel and frikandel are both still correct, but they now refer to different items of food. You all still with me? Good then lets move back on topic:

I made Spaghetti today. Wimped out on the sauce though, which I got from a jar.

Continuing the Asian theme, for dinner I had a Chinese dish at the local joint called House Special Seafood. Various seafoods in a slightly spicy brown sauce with vegetables on a sizzling platter. Quite yummy.

I spent all day on Southwest Airlines planes, so I didn't eat much of anything.

But last night I had an amazing bowl of the "Award Winning Creamy Green Chile Chicken Soup" at Kelly's Brew Pub in Albuquerque, NM. I also had a bratwurst sandwich, a pile of battered half sweet-potato/half white potato fries, and considerable quantities of Oatmeal Stout and Dunkelweizen. A fantastic meal!

Yes I get it and it was a little confusing for me to. They both look like something I could eat (hell I would eat about anything ).

@Bear: that looks fantastic
@Christopher: are the yellow stripes wasabi horseradish?
@Wouter: i had frikandel speciaal once but i found it too extreme because that, what looked like a sausage, had no casing and straight cut ends right from the extruder. I was wondering how Dutch food laws might be while trying it. And that's not good There was much better food available at the snackbars. Satee for example. The absolutely best was fresh deep-fried haddock in Stavoren.

Yesterday i had a american fastfood day: a subway sandwich with turkey for lunch and for dinner the 1955 special offer burger and the wonderfully perverse McRib wich is a regular item in Germany since years.

Capellini with diced zucchini, stripes of smoked salmon and a pinch of sambal oelek.

Super easy, fast and yummy. Just toss the salmon, zucchini and sambal for 1-2 min. in the pan, then mix them with the noodles. No additional oil or fluid needed. Maybe a teaspoon of water. The zucchini soak up the salmon taste and the sambal is to overrule a too fishy aftertaste.
