Hi,

Difference between those two is fine.
But, value of the target must evaluate to something REAL and the "id" name under which something is bound.
For eg: I have put a map in the request scope with id="abcd", if I use this as value of target , is this wrong? Will not it add value to that map.?

And also I have 1 more question.
What to do in jsp if we have to add something to list or array?

Please answer. Thanks..

With that JSTL, the target attribute should be evaluated to the real object, not to the name used to attached that object! You can use EL for this purpose!
