What do you use for 2-D data plotting?  RSS feed

I am in need of plotting 2-D data. For example X-axis and Y-axis are distance and Z is intensity at each X-Y point. Could someone point me to a good java library for this purpose?

Since you mention X, Y and Z it sounds more like you need a 3D library, not a 2D library, yes? For 2D plots I would have suggested JChart2D, although JFreeChart and OpenChart2 may also fit the bill.

Thats right. I have used JFreeChart before for 2D plotting, but there is real scarcity of good Java library for 3D plotting. I need it for scintific data plotting and not for visual effects that you normally associate with gaming etc.
