Hi,
Can someone help me with ORM concepts, without bringing in implementations of it(like hibernate and others...); and upto what extent relational mapping can be achieved from object based apps angle. thanks.

What concepts? Your question is a little vague. Can you expand?

HI Paul,
By concepts, I mean to elaborate/understand the object relational mapping, i.e objects concepts and their equivalent mappings, like a simple object mapped to a table; so most of the times we get to see hibernate or other such ibatis tools being discussed, like config files, syntax etc, but here i wanted to just elaborate on the original concepts on which any orm tool may be built, I hope this is little clear....thnx.

So, are you asking why ORMs exist or how they are implemented?

Ya, I would like to discuss little towards, why , I know why as such, (a little bit...) but do they really solve the problem at hand or add more complexity, just because somebody wants to use some frameworks, .......
