Hi,

We have an app which lifts files uploaded by users over FTP and processes them before loading them into a DB.

Currently we ask the users to upload all their files and then once they are complete upload an empty file called CONTROL_FILE.

Our code looks for this CONTROL_FILE and only starts processing once it is present.

It works, but it's not elegant and I'm curious if there is another way.

For the moment I need to exclude implementing the FTP upload process in Java.

Any ideas?

Paul
