Hi All,

Does anybody know a good material for JPA, i am preparing for CX-310-091.
I started reading EJB 3 in Action, JPA part is bit confusing, all JPA has been dumped at one place (personal opinion).
EJB3.0 is very well covered in this book in sequence order, couldn't find the same approach for JPA, i felt so.

any better material or book for JPA ?

Thanks,
Ravi

I did the beta exam on 29th September and used Pro JPA 2: Mastering the Java Persistence API to prepare, it's pretty good and is quite easy to follow. I'm not sure what the contents of the final exam will be but you should make sure you know the Criteria API very well, the beta exam was over 50% on this subject alone. I also used Enthuware EJB exam simulator and just created an exam using the JPA topics which was ok but not perfect.

Good luck!

CX-310-091 is about JPA1.0, so there isn't anything about Criteria. You might prefer using the first edition of this excellent book.

Is the JPA certification from Oracle already in production or still in Beta?

JPA Exam Beta closed on September 30th, so now beta is not available.
Production exam should be available about 2 moths after beta period closed, i.e. production JPA exam may be available in the beginning of December 2010.
