"Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No bean named '(inner bean)' is defined"

You are referencing a bean names "(inner bean)" And there is no such bean with that name. I didn't see it in your xml, but what about in your properties file? classpath:com/spring/demo/app.properties

You can also look into the annotation way of handling the transactions. It's better than writing aspects to handle transactions in XML
