In my personal opinion, there is no Magic number for time for part 1. It varies from individual to individual. If you spend some time in old threads, you find find people are talking from 3 weeks to 6 month time frame. It all depends on your current experience and role.

Sorry i dont have any perfect answer for your Question.

All the Best for this journey.

I split your topic off from the other topic - you had posted your question in a topic that would have been seen by a very small subset of all the people who visit this forum. Whereas now it stands alone and can be seen and commented on by everyone. You might want to look at UseOneThreadPerQuestion (and the other topics in HowToAskQuestionsOnJavaRanch) for some hints on how to get the greatest number and best answers to your questions here.

As for your question - it varies considerably. If you are currently working as an Architect, you may find that you do not need any study time at all. If you are still studying computer science in school then it will take considerably longer - you will probably want a good book that covers all the main topics for part 1 at a high level, then do additional research on any topics that you feel (or that mock tests show) you need more time on.

Good luck

Atar,
Welcome to CodeRanch!

Another way to tell is to take the sample multiple choice questions provided by Oracle/Sun for free and see what % you get. Is it an acceptable score? If so, you are very close to being ready.

Actually, was comfirtable in scea 310-051 with jdk 1.4 .But when i see that they are going to EOL of 310-051 and move towards other certifications.
Today only, purchased some books as mentioned/recommanded in another thread and could get the address of shop, where these books were available in Pune.
