I read on a Struts Cookbook that best way to keep a session of hibernate alive until the control is given to the user is to use Servlet Filter (giving it the Session factory).

Now i want to understand what difference there is from using:
Servlet Filter()

or

Modifing Request Processor

or

Create a Plugin

Fore my base culture of Struts all this 3 methods works before that an action take place, so what are the differences between them?

tnks a lot,
bye.
