I have 5 years experince and have received an offer from XXX hyderabad . As there are very few companies in India which does real good development work in Mainframe and I being in Assembler have very limited scope in Core companies . so without thinking much I decided to go for XXX and didn't think about relocation which would cost at unsettling my wife's job who is doing good in her job and is working in a product based company . Now I have already spent 2 weeks in XXX and I am feeling the work didn't come as per my expectation , I was inclined towards system programming but am disappointed that level of work is far away from expectation . The advantage of working in XXX is its brand name , which could probably help me to get in companies like YYY , ZZZ etc ..later on . Another advantage is opportunity of leaning c++ .. which I am not sure whether is worth or not . work culture and other aspect seems pretty cool , but the growth looks very linear and slow .

Meanwhile , week ago I got another offer from a mid size company AAA. Which is offering me a little more than XXX (12.5 l/pa) .The employye strenght of this company is around 900 and its cmm level 4 company . somehow they have managed to get a client in mainframe and the work looks little challenging , They are eager to get me considering my Assembler expertise , The offer is for team lead ..and they are kind of relying on me to execute this project succefully , My role will be to train and lead 30 resource in Assembler . While contacting few of my friends in that company said if you get this project done for them probably it might accelerate my growth and make me visible in higher authority , as many of the projects are lined up and depends on the success of this project .

Now , I am in mental turmoil .not able to decide for which to go . pros and cons of joining either company is :

XXX:

pros : brand name , job security , learning
cons : relocation , upsetting my wife's job

AAA :

pros : more vissibility ,growth ,
cons : job insecurity , no brand name ,

and other thing , while XXX is full of IItians and students from reputed colleges ..guys at AAA looked very naiv ...

I will be highly obliged for any direction ...
