This is the first thread in the new Java 7/8 forum. I thought I'd kick things off by asking people about what planned features they're jazzed about. My personal favorite, Elvis and friends, didn't make it in to Java 7. What are you looking forward to?

It was recently announced that the ARM support would be included for JDBC as well, so no more incredibly long chains of closing off Statements, Connections, Sessions and goodness knows what else :-)

That is great. Do you have a link to that announcement because I can't find it.

Project coin has a lot of new features. Which feature do you like most?

Strings in switch- If they can be extended to comparing with regex pattern in the case statements (or does this support it?), that would be useful.
And of course- the ARM

Nope it can't. The only new things that can be in the case statements are compile-time constant Strings.
