You have access to every request made by the user. The access logs for your Servlet container probably already have part of this information, though you will need to expand on this to get the fine grained detail you want. You could do that in a filter. The trickier part is how you tell that one anonymous user is not the same anonymous user again via a new session. Can't think how you could do that without using cookies.

Thanxs for the response...

is the same anonymous user returned back(not required for our requirement )

Actually we wanted to capture user experience on our website, so that we can improve it accordingly
hence we decided to capture the following data

1) where user abandoned the site (like which section, field)
2) time to fillup the site details, user taking (section wise)
3) commonly unedited fields by the user

we come up with javascript scripts, session ... but for the whole application to have too many javascript will make application ruin.

please help me, which can be better to go with ...i am very new to the topic access logs and filters....
can you suggest some quick tutorial for access log and type of filters to use and his tutorial, so that i can start right way the implementation ....

Configuration details : tomcat 5.5

Thanxs in advance ...
