Hello,

I've installed Tomcat on my Mac OS X and it's running as it should.
Now I've installed a Windows XP in VirtualBox with bridged connection.
Added a vhost in the windows pointing to the IP adres of my Mac OS X host.

In the server.xml I've added another hostname using the IP adres of the Windows XP.

Now when I go to the vhost (for example: www.localhost.local:8080/mysite) I get the standard Windows 404 page.
Same thing if I enter the IP adres of the host.
Also knowing that www.localhost.local is pointing to the IP adres of the host.

Is there something else I'm missing to make this work?

Thanks!

Can't speak specifically about it through a VM, but if trying to access Tomcat in my mac via another computer in my own network, I have to run tomcat as the super user (sudo). I've casually been looking for a better alternative but it's so rare I have to do that, I just haven't found anything in my light searches.

You can't use localhost to access another machine (host) it is only available locally, and it is the same with the IP-adr. 127.0.0.1 - you need to use the host IP-adr. or the real host name.
