Are the road maps clear on how cloud computing is going to evolve in terms of technology and acceptance ?

Cloud computing has already been in place. We have things like- Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service. And acceptance has been positive looking at the advantages it brings in. You can always read more about PaaS,SaaS,IaaS which are all forms of Cloud computing.

There were quite a few descriptive posts in this forum related to Cloud Computing.

True its already in place, but acceptance wise people are are still skeptical I guess. And also it should evolve too , just like grid computing and virtualization evolved into Cloud computing. If we can foresee the evolution and sketch a road map , the acceptance would definitely increase.

yes many are skeptical and the road map does not seem to be clear!

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
