Hi everyone,

Web service is one way to implement the service oriented architecture.Perhaps, web services is not the only way to get the job done in Service Oriented Architecture.

Apart from web services, can somebody give the other technologies which is being used the realize the service oriented architecture.

Before "Web Services" there was Tuple-Space as implemented in JavaSpaces.

Also Message Oriented Middleware MOM - see Java Message Services.

(hi MOM)

Both technologies are still valid for SOA.

You could implement business services with Korn Shell scripts if you wanted. SOA is primarily a
business strategy and the "services" in an SOA are typically "business" services that an
organization has. Whether these services are implemented or use technology depends upon
the organization.

Web services enable two or more applications to communicate with each other. A particular
SOA implementation may include web services or it may not. Again, business services and web services
are not the same.
