How to parse the shape file in java. I want to read only the data in the shape file. Please help me.

What is a "shape file"? Its not a commonly known file format, so you need to tell us about its structure.

Its it a vector data for for geographic information systems. I want to parse those file and feed to the database.

So you're talking about the ESRI format? Both OpenMap and GeoTools have Java APIs for reading that.

We can't use JShape or FShape. I don't want to display any image, just want to pull out the data as x,y,z coordinates. Is OpenMap and GeoTools are free ware and re-distributable?

Both the API are licenced version. Is there any other open source API available? Kindly help me.
